The project requests a full documentation set for the proposed renovation of the site. The client desires an organic, comfortable and minimal design with good circulation and airflow. An open floorplan is preferable and good inlet of natural light is essential. The clients all prefer a Scandinavian approach to the interiors and are looking for a home which is both soulful and inclusive, and allows for the spatial design to submerge with the courtyards.
Mitchison House is an existing terrace house nestled the heart of Surry Hills, Sydney. The clients are a family of three with two proud fathers of a teenage daughter. The renewal of the terrace house is extensive and the client is looking for a total renovation, including bathroom, kitchen and other living areas which satisfies the aesthetics and living qualities of both parents and child.
The colour palette and materials have therefore become a collection of light and neutral elements such as blond timber, natural stone and pale greens. The materials complement each other as well as the natural elements of the architecture
